Different Types of Men’s Socks

Posted on September 13, 2023

Socks are an often-overlooked staple of the gentleman’s wardrobe. The right pair, however, can be the finishing touch to a great outfit, keeping you comfortable and looking good throughout the day. Whether you’re rocking casual shorts or a pair of tailored trousers, there are socks out there to complement every style. But there are also many subtle differences in terms of lengths, materials, and designs that make a difference to how you wear them.

For example, no show socks are designed to be hidden beneath your cuffs, which means they’re perfect for the summer when you want to be able to wear light shoes without worrying about your socks showing. They’re usually made from cotton, which is comfortable and breathable for long periods of time.

Athletic socks are thicker, with padding and cushioning that provides additional comfort. They’re usually made from cotton, but they can also be wool, which is durable and insulating. They’re breathable as well, and they typically feature a design or pattern that adds a little personality to the look.

Compression socks are another specialized type of men’s sock that falls under the athletic category, and they’re designed to compress the calf muscles. In theory, this helps to improve circulation and speed up recovery time.

Finally, there are men’s socks that are specifically meant to ward off bad odors, and these are often made from fabrics that are better at wicking moisture and reducing odours. Our testers wore the Stance Icons and Dickies Dri-Tech socks for a full day of hiking and working out, and both pairs did an excellent job at not stinking up our feet.men’s bamboo socks
